Are you a product of the corporate system?

We think, mistakenly that success is the result of the amount of time we put in at work, instead of the quality of time we put in - Arianna Huffington.

Did you "fall" into corporate life? If you met your 13-year-old self today, are you doing her/his/their dream job?

At 13 I think I was just getting into the fashion designer phase of what I wanted to be when I grew up. I was skinny and tall and regular clothes my age didn't fit - too short, too baggy, too much in the hip/bum (I still don't have that ass).

If you have worked with me in the past you know I work hard, I have always pulled long hours (recovering perfectionist here) - why because I wanted it done and wanted to check stuff off the list. But in corporate life the list - doesn't stop, it's never-ending. As I progressed through my career I realised that a lot of busy work gets done - especially in big business... people creating work for the sake of it, additional steps, additional layers of a team - but is it efficient? Is the quality at the end of it any good?

Now I really think this applies to life - ok ok hear me out. We put so much time being "busy" in life - ohhh I'm so busy, oh I cant XYZ I'm too busy. But is this actually living life? Is there quality in the time you are spending living? It's something interesting to contemplate.

I take the stance on maximising my hours - I don't binge Netflix for days on end (it's ok if you do - it's just different priorities). What I always make sure I do is if I am with my friends I am really there - fully present. For me when I am old and grey success will be numbered in the memories I have made, the stories I share and the people who have touched my life - not the 50,000 meetings I had as a corporate monkey!

The next thing to contemplate:

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams - Elenor Roosevelt

Do you have future dreams or goals that you are trying to bring into reality? Do you trust that you have the tools and the ability to make it happen?

If your dreams genuinely resonate with who you are, believe that you will be supported in fulfilling them. This could be a bit Woo, but I fully believe the right people, skills and opportunities come into play to support you on the journey.

Don't give up now. You have only just begun.

If you don't risk anything, you risk even more - Erika Jong

What have you done recently that you perceived as a risk? If you took the risk, how did it make you feel taking the leap? If you didn't, (which is perfectly fine) how did you feel after?

Risks are a matter of individual perception, what is risky for one person may be an everyday action for another - none is "better" or "greater" than the other. The bit that is important is how you feel, what does the "risk" rise in you?

If this resonated maybe it's a sign that you are looking for a different measure of success. I LOVE that, it's my jam. Let's explore that together. Hit me up

I love you, I see you!
